Research breakthroughs and clinical insights won’t be the only things hitting the stage at the 2025 World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC 2025) in Barcelona. The inaugural WCLC Talent Showcase will highlight six IASLC members who will perform live at the conference.
The IASLC conducted its first call for talent earlier this year among its members, receiving an impressive number of submissions. Four acts were selected to perform across two segments of this year’s program.
Three acts will take the spotlight during the Opening Plenary on Saturday, September 6, between 17:45 and 19:15 Central European Summer Time (CEST):
- Drs. Henry Park (USA) and Andreas Rimner (Germany) will perform a classical instrumental ensemble on the violin and piano.
- Dr. Santiago Viteri (Spain) will play a traditional Catalan folk piece on the guitar.
- Prof. Tom John (Australia) and Prof. Sanjay Popat (United Kingdom) will give an original indie performance on the guitar and piano.
Dr. David Lee (USA) will deliver the fourth and final performance on Tuesday, September 9, at 14:15 CEST during the WCLC Closing Luncheon. He will give a piano performance, with a surprise guest joining him for the final song.
From clinical insights and research breakthroughs to encore-worthy performances, WCLC 2025 promises to be a hit. Like the IASLC, this latest programming addition celebrates the diversity and spirit of the members who bring this global community together.
