Past attendees of the World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) are likely familiar with the preconference events that take place before the Opening Plenary on day one of the meeting. This year, WCLC organizers have expanded the preconference roster and added new hands-on workshops to the WCLC 2026 program.

While some events—such as the Early Career Forum, LATAM Forum, and IASLC CT Screening and Early Detection Symposium—may be familiar favorites returning to WCLC 2026, several new ones will make their debut in Seoul.

“We have enhanced our hands-on workshops,” IASLC CEO Karen Kelly, MD, said. “We have several new opportunities, and they are multidisciplinary in focus. I think those are going to be absolutely fantastic. We also have more preconference sessions with our partner societies from around the world.”

These comprehensive forums will cover a range of topics from wearable devices, robotics, and robotic lung cancer surgery to tobacco cessation support in lung cancer care. Preconference forums, symposia, and workshops will take place throughout the day on Saturday, September 12, and several additional hands-on workshops will take place throughout the meeting.

As you plan which events you’d most like to attend, please be mindful that several are first-come, first-served or require tickets for entry. Please refer to the complete conference program for the most up-to-date information.
