Peter Bach, MD, is the new chief medical officer at Delfi Diagnostics, a developer of blood tests for early detection of multiple types of cancer. Dr. Bach leaves Memorial Sloan Kettering after 23 years, where he served as director of the Center for Health Policy and Outcomes.
“Lung cancer screening is the ideal place to start,” said Dr. Bach, of the 2019 start-up company’s mission to make liquid biopsy screening more widely affordable and accessible. A long-time researcher and advocate of lung cancer screening, he has been an outspoken critic of the pharmaceutical industry’s drug pricing.
Dr. Bach is also chair of the Medicare Evidence Development & Coverage Advisory Committee of the Centers for Medicaid & Medicare Services.
